What is CBD?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol (Can-a-bid-i-ol). CBD is a main component of cannabis and in a class of molecules called cannabinoids found in the plant genus Cannabis Sativa (both hemp and marijuana).  It is just one of over 100 compounds found in cannabis. CBD is a non-psychoactive component that may hold a wide variety of potential health benefits, and it does not induce the psychoactive or “high” feelings that THC does.

The human body has a system of receptors known as the endocannabinoid system which utilizes cannabinoids in a wide variety of ways in our bodies. CBD is the most used and pure form of cannabidiol extract from the hemp plant.   Our sister company farms hemp using organic practices and extracts our hemp or sources only the most refined CBD extracts.  Bennistar CBD tinctures will never have a dirty, or earthy, or burnt flavor of some tinctures that use less refined or less expensive extracts.
